Lovely Evening

Yesterday my husband and I went across town to eat at our favorite Chinese restaurant. It turned out to be well worth the drive, as we had the yummiest dinner together.

What is most noteworthy about the experience, aside from the delicious food, I believe, is the powerful fortune that I received in my cookie at the end of the meal! You all might get a kick out of this, and it may be the words that you may have been needing to hear for your personal self-development. Here is the portentous message, written in incredibly strong fortune cookie script:

“Sever the ignorant doubt in your heart with the sword of self-knowledge.”

I mean, honestly, how often is one told to sever anything in a fortune cookie message? I really feel as if this is a message from the universe directly written to me and my husband, and now also to you all.

Admittedly I was shaken by the severity of this knowledge and wisdom, but I do feel as if the message has caused me to shake off any doubt or fear I may have had in my heart about anything, and I promise to go forth in truth and confidence.

The Moo Goo Gai Pan was some of the best ever, and in tribute to Mary Tyler Moore, I still always select that one from the menu, after having learned that was her favorite dish as well. I know, y’all, please remember the seventies. Good times!

  1. Wow, that’s the most literary fortune cookie message I’ve ever known. LOL. I need to look up Mary Tyler Moore and see what’s the connection there to Moo Goo Gai Pan. LOL.

  2. This is a great message. Obviously someone has spent time to collect meaningful messages and place them in cookies. Thank you for sharing. Hope you and your husband continue to have such great times together. 👌
